  • Barney: Woah! (sees the viewer(s)) Hi there, everybody! I am gonna go inside the classroom and see the kids and see what they are up to. Whatever their doing, I hope their being safe. (goes inside and sees the kids with a toy traffic light in the classroom) Hi there, everybody!
  • Kids: Hi Barney!
  • Baby Bop: Hello Barney!
  • (they hug Barney)
  • Barney: Watch ya' doing?
  • Maria: We're gonna teach Baby Bop road safety with this toy traffic light. (gets out two toy cars) See, Baby Bop? If there isn't a traffic light, cars would crash into each other like this. (crashes the toy cars) So, you need a traffic light to stay safe while driving. (music starts for "The Traffic Light Song") Always watch the traffic light, the traffic light, the traffic light. Green means go, yellow means slow, and red means stop, stop, stop.
  • All (except Baby Bop): Always watch the traffic light, the traffic light, the traffic light. Green means go, yellow means slow, and red means stop, stop, stop.
  • (music ends)
  • Barney: Sure!
  • (does magic, and cardboard boxes appear)
  • Kim: Barney, these aren't cars.
  • Barney: Not yet! First, you have to make them look like cars, by decorating them. This looks like a job for...

  • (music starts for "The Barney Bag")
  • Barney: Oh, I've been looking in my Barney Bag, and I found a lot of things. Gizmos and gadgets and odds and ends, and even some old strings.
  • Kids: So, let's ask ourself the question, "What can we make today?" With imagination, and the Barney Bag, we'll see what we can make today. Yeah! See what we can make today.
  • (they start decorating their boxes, and fades to them done)
  • Barney: Those cars look Super-Dee-Duper!
  • Robert: Now their ready to ride!
  • Julie: Not yet! First, we need to buckle our seatbelts.

  • (horn beeps)
  • Maria: My mom's here to pick me up. Bye Barney.
  • Barney: Bye Maria. I'll walk into the corner and help you cross the street. And when you get in the car. What's the first thing you need to do.
  • Maria: Say hi to Baby Bop and BJ. After i finished buckle up my seatbelts. Bye.
  • Kids: Bye Maria.

  • All: Riding in the car. Riding in the car. We love riding in the car.
  • Robert: I love to ride in grandpa's car. He never knows just where we are. Since he won't stop to check a map, I see new places in a snap.
  • All: Riding in the car. Riding in the car. We love riding in the car.
  • Kids: We love to ride in Barney's car, 'round the corner or to the stars. He set us up our seatbelts buckled. He makes us laugh.

  • All: Riding in the car. Riding in the car. We love riding in the car. Riding in the car. Riding in the car. We love riding in the car.
  • (music ends)
  • BJ: And Baby Bop, when you cross the street, you got to be careful. There might be a car, and hit you.
  • Barney: Let's practice first, so Baby Bop will be ready in the future.

  • Barney: Good job, Baby Bop!
  • Baby Bop: Thank you! I know how to cross the street, now!
  • Barney: Good! Now let's do bath safety!
  • (does magic, and a bathtub appears)
  • Julie: You should alway's go into the bathtub unless a grown-up is near by, too make sure the water isn't too hot or cold, but just right.
  • Baby Bop: When I take baths, BJ is near by to make sure I'm in the bathtub!
  • Barney: Since BJ isn't here now, we'll look over you.
  • Baby Bop: Okay! Thank you!
  • (fades to Baby Bop in the tub, and music starts for "Splashin' in the Bath")
  • Baby Bop: Sometimes, I splash to much. (splashes) I hope I won't get in trouble. But when I take a bath, it's so much fun, watching bubble, after bubble, after bubble.
  • All (except Baby Bop): Oh, when your splashing around, it is fun to pretend. Your a fish, or a froggy, or a duck.
  • Baby Bop: Quack, quack!

  • Barney: Now let's learn about fire safety!
  • Kim: Baby Bop, when there's a fire in the house, tell BJ or one of us, and we'll get out of the place. And in fires, there is a lot of smoke, so you'll have to crawl under it.
  • BJ: Let's practice!
  • (all of them, except Barney, crawl outside, with Barney following them)
  • Barney: And then, the firefighters will come to the rescue!
  • (does magic, and "Barney's Fire Department" firetruck appears, and music starts for "Hurry, Hurry, Drive the Firetruck")

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
  • (music ends, and fades to them back inside the classroom)
  • Barney: There's still one more safety rule. It's very important. I know a song that will help you remember the rule, Baby Bop. (music starts for "The Stranger Song") I'll sing it the first time, and you do it the second time. Never talk to strangers. That's very good advice, 'cause you just can't tell if their good or bad, even though they may seem nice. Even though they may seem nice. Don't get in their car.
  • Kids: No, no!
  • Barney: Don't take anything from them.
  • Kids: No, no!
  • Barney: Just turn around.
  • Kids: Yeah!
  • Barney: And walk away.
  • Kids: Yeah!
  • Barney: Go back, and tell a grown-up friend.
  • Kids: Oh, yeah!
  • Barney: Go back, and tell a grown-up friend! Now see if you remember, Baby Bop.
  • Baby Bop: Never talk to strangers. That's very good advice, 'cause you just can't tell if their good or bad, even though they may seem nice. Even though they may seem nice. Don't get in their car.

  • Kids: No, no!
  • Baby Bop: Just turn around.
  • Kids: Yeah!
  • Baby Bop: And walk away.
  • Kids: Yeah!
  • Baby Bop: Go back, and tell a grown-up friend.
  • Kids: Oh, yeah!
  • Baby Bop: Go back and tell a grown-up friend.
  • Barney & Baby Bop: Don't get in their car.
  • Kids: No, no!
  • Barney & Baby Bop: Don't take anything from them.
  • Kids: No, no!
  • Barney & Baby Bop: Just turn around.
  • Kids: Yeah!
  • Barney & Baby Bop: And walk away.
  • Kids: Yeah!
  • Barney & Baby Bop: Go back, and tell a grown-up friend.
  • Kids: Oh, yeah!
  • Barney & Baby Bop: Go back, and tell a grown-up friend.
  • Baby Bop: Go back, and tell a grown-up friend.
  • (music ends, and see BJ's shadow, walking in the school hallway)
  • Jason: That looks like a stranger right now!
  • Barney: You know what to do, Baby Bop. Don't talk to him!
  • BJ: I'm not her sister! I'm a stranger!
  • Barney: Sorry about that, BJ.
  • BJ: It's okay! And it sounds like Sissy has a lot of safety rules to share with me!
  • Barney: It sure does!
  • (BJ and Baby Bop start walking away, but BJ slips on a toy car)
  • BJ: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!
  • (BJ crashes, and Barney, Baby Bop and the kids rush over to help him)
  • Barney: It looks like we forgot one more safety rule. You should alway's clean up, or someone might slip on a toy, and fall. Are you okay, BJ?
  • BJ: I'm fine, except my tail hurts.
  • Barney: Well, here's a bandage.
  • (does magic, and a bandage appears, and Barney puts it on BJ's tail)
  • BJ: Thanks, Barney.
  • Barney: Your welcome. Now, let's clean up the mess.
  • (music starts for "Clean Up" and they start cleaning)
  • All: Clean up, clean up, everybody, everywhere. Clean up, clean up, everybody do your share. Clean up, clean up, everybody, everywhere. Clean up, clean up, everybody do your share. Clean up, clean up, everybody, everywhere. Clean up, clean up, everybody do your share.
  • (music ends, and fades to the classroom clean)
  • Barney: That's better! Now, nobody will slip and fall on something! And next time, BJ, be careful. And sometimes, when you "be careful", it means you care about them, and love them.
  • Baby Bop: So, be careful, BJ.
  • (music starts for "I Love You")
  • BJ: I will, Sissy.
  • Barney: I love you, you love me. We're a happy family. With a great big hug, and a kiss from me to you, won't you say you love me too?
  • All: I love you, you love me. We're best friends like friends should be. With a great big hug, and a kiss from me to you, won't you say you love me too?
  • (music ends)
  • BJ: Well, Sissy and I better get going.
  • Baby Bop: And I'll share all the safety rules I learned today all the way home. Bye, everybody, and thanks for the safety lessons.
  • BJ: And for making my tail feel better!
  • Barney & Kids: Your welcome. Bye, now.
  • (BJ and Baby Bop walk away, and they dissappear)
  • Jason: We better get going, too, Barney.
  • Barney: But before you go, I would like to give you these.
  • (does magic, and they all get a "You Are Safe" badge)
  • Barney: Now, you are all safe. Well, bye everybody.
  • Kids: Bye.
  • (kids walk away, and zooms over to the Barney doll, and it winks, and scene zooms over to the "Barney Says" segment)
  • Barney: Hello again to all my friends. I'm glad you came to play. Our fun and learning never ends. Here's what we did today. We taught Baby Bop all about safety today. From trafic lights, to car safety, to crossing streets, bath safety, fire safety, and to never talk to strangers. When BJ showed up, and slipped on a toy car, we learned another safety rule. To clean up your toys when your done playing with them. But BJ's tail is better now, and I know that your safe, too, so you can have a "You Are Safe" badge. All you have to do is ask a grown-up to make one, and be careful next time your being safe. And remember, I love you.
